Bird Rock feels some of the economic pinch

Very sad to see the closure of Stephanie's Shoe Boutique. I'd love to see Stephanie's efforts continue online. Every loss impacts the momentum of the Bird Rock business district along La Jolla Blvd. In addition to Stephanie's, we saw the recent closure of Marisco's Mexican Seafood and Little Baby Bird Rock (after they moved to new Pacific Beach location). Business owners and residents have had to develop strategies to overcome the fiscal fallout. Let's all remember they depend on local patronage. We can all show our support by patronizing local businesses, both to save gas and to support local entrepreneurs during tough economic times.
